Thought you might like to enjoy the song and a little visual “history” behind Wyclef’s Historia.  Feel free to dance along!

You like to dance to this; I bet you’ll love hearing here on the “Sing Off.”

Here is the video I promised you.  Enjoy!

This is Bradley.  He used to be a sumo wrestler who weighed 265 pounds but lost the weight with Zumba.  He is now a Zumba instructor in Vista, California.  I get  a lot of choreography from him.  The young man he mimics in the video is his son who was watching and playing around.  Bradley often has his two kids in his videos.

I’m posting this because we will be doing it in class in July and, also, because I think her belly is so cute in this video!

As promised, here is this year’s signature Zumba dance!

Here’s one of our new dances….the one where we move forward and back.  Enjoy!

Piyo is a combination of Pilates and Yoga Stretch.  It is pretty intense and flows fairly rapidly.  Yoga lovers may find it loses some of the peacefulness and mind-body experience of regular yoga.  There is a sample below.  We flow a little slower!  This instructor was actually my trainer.

I am currently teaching PIYO through the North Kansas City Public Schools Community Education Program.  Write me if you have questions on the next session.

The request came in this week for a little more Bollywood.  We do two or three a year and our next will be the one below.  It is a song that attempts to place many of the Bhangra steps into an “easy to use” format.  It is called the Bhangra Zumba Slide. Bhangra is a traditional folk dance from the northern state of Punjab, India.  I enjoyed the chance to study Masala Bhangra in Florida with Sarina Jain, known as the “Jane Fonda of India.”

The man singing is Jay Kumar.  He is a Zumba instructor in the United Kingdom.  This will be our next Bhangra.  Have fun with it and sing along if you want!
